My role was to design a logo, a lotion and shower gel packaging for a brand called Moonskin. I have also created a tote bag design for Moonskin.
My goal was to create a logo that would be:
Minimalist and elegant: The logo has a clean, minimalist design, which aligns well with contemporary aesthetics in the beauty industry. The simplicity enhances its versatility across packaging, digital platforms, and promotional materials.
Symbolic and Relevant: Incorporating a moon symbol in the "O" creatively aligns with the brand name "Moonskin." This subtle use of imagery adds personality and a connection to themes of natural beauty, calmness, or nighttime skincare routines, which are often associated with self-care and luxury.
Sophisticating: The sleek, sans-serif font gives it a modern, sophisticated feel, enhancing its appeal as a high-end or boutique cosmetics brand. This choice also supports readability and adaptability.
Memorable: The distinct use of the moon icon within the text makes the logo unique and easy to remember, helping it stand out among competitors.
My aim was also to create a timeless design. The logo avoids overly trendy elements, giving it a timeless look that can remain relevant as design trends evolve.
With the design of packaging for body lotion and shower gel, my goal was to create an elegant, minimalistic aesthetic that aligns well with the brand’s luxurious and natural appeal.
A breakdown of the design elements:
Color scheme
I used a soft, muted green as the primary color, which gives a calming and natural vibe, ideal for a skincare product. Green often symbolizes freshness and nature, which appeals to customers seeking products with natural ingredients. In this case, the color choice also suggests the use of olive oil and other natural ingredients in the product.
Olives and leaves pattern
Olive leaves and fruits suggest the use of olive-based ingredients. This pattern adds visual interest and reinforces the idea of natural, plant-based ingredients.
Typography and Brand Logo
The "Moonskin" logo is placed prominently at the top of the label. Below the logo, the product name and purpose (e.g., "Shower Gel" and "Body Lotion") are clearly labeled, ensuring that customers can easily identify the product. The typography is clean and minimal, with a sans-serif font that enhances readability and complements the modern and luxorious design.
Product Information
At the bottom of the label, additional product details (e.g., key ingredients like olive leaf extract, olive oil, vitamins A+E+F, collagen, and elastin) are listed in a smaller, slightly softer font. This provides transparency about the ingredients, which is appealing to customers interested in skincare benefits. The product claims, such as "deep hydration" (Głębokie Nawilżenie), are written just below the product name, reinforcing the product's benefits at a glance.
